Whistleblower Protections

Whistleblower protections apply to any employee, contractor, or other person who reports, in good faith, a suspected violation of consumer-financial law to a federal or state regulator, to internal compliance, or in connection with an investigation. Protections include those under:

  • Section 1057 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, 12 U.S.C. § 5567.
  • Section 806 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, 18 U.S.C. § 1514A (where applicable).
  • Cal. Lab. Code § 1102.5 and similar state whistleblower statutes.

We do not retaliate against, discharge, demote, suspend, threaten, harass, or in any manner discriminate against any whistleblower. Concerns about retaliation should be raised immediately to internal compliance and may also be reported to OSHA at whistleblowers.gov or, for CFPB-related issues, to the CFPB Office of Inspector General.

Anonymous Reporting

You may submit a concern anonymously by U.S. mail or by leaving a voicemail without identifying yourself. Anonymous reports are investigated to the extent the available information permits.

Confidentiality

We treat complaints and whistleblower reports as confidential to the maximum extent consistent with conducting a thorough investigation and complying with the law.

Recordkeeping

We maintain records of complaints, investigations, and resolutions for the period required by applicable law and at least three (3) years from final disposition.
